St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School seeks responsible, creative, and patient adults who enjoy working with children and are interested in working in our Extended Day program.
The Extended Day program serves students in Nursery (age 3) through Grade 8 in need of after-school care. The program's hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Friday). There is flexibility in scheduling the hours and days of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Applicants for these part-time positions should have experience working with children in a preschool, teaching, camp, or aftercare environment. Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma and preferably a bachelor's degree or be working towards a bachelor's or advanced degree. Pay is based on education and experience.
Examples of activities that Extended Day staff members engage in include:
- Planning, preparing, and implementing a program of age-appropriate activities (e.g. cooking, arts and crafts, sports, games, and clubs)
- Supervising small groups of children, together with a co-instructor, in a variety of St. Patrick's educational settings (e.g., playgrounds, multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums, and classrooms)
- Greeting visitors, answering phone calls and performing administrative duties at the programs' reception desk
- Communicating with parents about children's behavior and activities during the extended day program.
Candidates must be able to attend paid monthly site-based staff development sessions. All appointments are subject to the successful completion of a required background check.
