Infant-Toddler Childcare Center
The St. Patrick's Infant-Toddler Center (ITC) opened in 1991 and has been providing exceptional childcare for over thirty years. Teacher-tested and teacher-approved, our infant & toddler program provides a nurturing, play-based program that promotes the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children in a loving and inclusive community. Grounded in the Day School’s mission and philosophy, the ITC reflects our recognition of the infinite value of every individual as a child of God. Children will feel loved and supported in our care.

Our Early Childhood ITC Staff
Our ITC teachers are dedicated early-childhood professionals who are passionate about working with children at these important developmental stages of their lives.
All our teachers must meet professional requirements set forth by the District’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), pass Federal and District background checks, complete health physicals, possess current certification in First Aid and CPR, and meet annual professional development requirements as outlined by OSSE.
ITC teachers are evaluated annually by the director and receive feedback on professionalism and job performance. The St. Patrick’s Infant-Toddler Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Part of a Larger Setting and Continuum of Care for Children
The ITC represents the beginning of many of our families' relationships with St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School. The ITC is located in the main Church and Day School building at 4700 Whitehaven Parkway NW. While the ITC is, appropriately, largely “a place apart” from the Day School, its location on the campus offers some inherent benefits not normally associated with a typical daycare setting, particularly for the older ITC children. These benefits include, but are not limited to, the following:
-
An onsite registered nurse during hours of operation
-
Access to a number of play spaces, both indoors and outdoors
-
Access to the Garden & Outdoor Learning Center
-
Read-aloud and visits by the Day School librarian
-
Special consideration in the admission process to the Day School.
Dedicated Outdoor Playground

Parental Involvement
Building on the cooperative roots at the creation of the ITC, parent input and feedback are integral parts of providing the best care possible. We welcome ideas, comments, and concerns from parents. Experience tells us that open and timely communication between parents and ITC staff is a key ingredient as we work toward the healthy development of each child in our care.
