Athletics and Physical Education
Consistent with the St. Patrick’s School Creed—which promotes Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Kindness—athletics at St. Patrick’s also teach important lessons about sportsmanship and fair play.
Athletics at St. Patrick’s play an integral role in our effort to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of our students. Our athletic program mirrors our academic curriculum, in that it makes room both for individuality and for cooperation toward goals that will result in significant accomplishment. We believe that physical activity and participation on a team are important for every student. Thus, we offer our students athletic activities ranging from interscholastic and developmental team sports to physical education.
Beginning in Nursery School, students participate in physical education classes during the school day through Grade 6.
In Grades 7 and 8, participation in the athletic program is mandatory, replacing physical education as part of the school day.
Students in Grades 3 through 6 who are seeking greater skill development in soccer, basketball, or lacrosse and who may not be ready for interscholastic competition can participate in a series of once-a-week developmental clinics and seasonal competition.
