Summer at St. Patrick's is a wonderful way for incoming students to make new friends before the start of the school year and get acquainted with the Whitehaven Campus. At the same time, children from well beyond the St. Patrick's community have for years thrived in Summer at St. Patrick's. We work hard every day so that you will always have peace of mind, knowing that your child is safe, cared for, recognized as beloved, and actively engaged in enjoyable and worthwhile endeavors. We have carefully developed a camp experience that is designed to foster intimate community, friendship, and our creed of honesty, responsibility, kindness, and respect. Summer at St. Patrick's runs from June 24 to August 2 and from August 19 to August 30.

Commencement activities for the Class of 2019 were held on Wednesday, June 12, in the Nave. These 33 students proudly become our 17th Grade 8 graduating class, concluding their St. Patrick's careers and moving on to high school. Members of the community joined our graduating students, their families and friends, Day School faculty and staff, and the Board of Trustees for this wonderful moment in the lives of these young people and the life of St. Patrick's. This year's speaker was the Rev. P. Roger Bowen, a former Day School Trustee who served Episcopal schools as a Chaplain, a Head of School, and an advocate for partnerships with schools in Haiti. These 19 boys and 14 girls have excelled in a variety of academic, artistic, and athletic pursuits here at St. Patrick's, and we send them on to their secondary schools with our gratitude and respect. Big congratulations to our newest alumni!

In honor of two longtime leaders of the St. Patrick's Nursery School program, Pat Spector and Nancy White, we welcomed their family and friends in early June to the dedication of the expansive redeveloped play space as the Patricia R. Spector and Nancy C. White Primary Grades Playground. St. Patrick's students spend a significant portion of their program day outdoors. The goal is to help them develop a love of and respect for the outdoors, physical movement, and fitness. This space is designed to provide for the educational, creative, social-emotional, and physical development of our children. Nancy and Pat were thrilled by this great honor and the beautiful play space for Nursery School and Lower School children. We also welcome our neighbors and friends to use this wonderful playground when school is not in session.
