Parent Education & Support
2025-2026

Building Connection, Understanding, Skills, and Strategies

Our Parent Education Series is designed to support and empower caregivers through expert-facilitated learning, connection with fellow parents,
and timely, research-based resources.

Programming will be led by School Counselors Julianne Reilly and Debbie Weinberger, with collaboration from school leaders and community partners.

Parenting Anxious Kids - Tuesday, September 30, 8:30-10:00 am via Zoom

Facilitated by School Counselors Julianne Reilly and Debbie Weinberger, and Middle School Learning Specialist Kaiti Brockmyer
Parenting an anxious kid or teen? Not sure if you are responding in a helpful way? The first part of this two-part series will explore the components of SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), an evidence-based treatment developed at Yale University. Parents will leave with an understanding of how childhood anxiety presents,  the most helpful ways to respond as a parent and caregiver, and resources for addressing particularly intense presentations of anxiety in the home. The second part of the series will be discussion-based and will offer an opportunity to explore specific questions or scenarios.

The book provides incredibly useful information on understanding and supporting our children as they move through adolescence. While this group will focus on supporting parents of teens, any parents are welcome to join. Our hope is to offer support to parents as they navigate parenting their children through the transition of adolescence into adulthood and all the challenges that can arise along the way.  Please read as much of the book as possible prior to joining the discussion.
