Parent Volunteers

Welcome to the Parents Association! All St. Patrick’s parents are automatically members of the PA. This warm and dedicated group works to support the Day School program in a variety of ways, managing everything from Room Parents to a schedule of family activities throughout the school year to a range of meaningful fundraising initiatives. 

Help the PA host one of its several events throughout the school year, including Family Fun Day (October), the Book Fair (November), Grandparents & Special Friends Visiting Day (November), ongoing Faculty and Staff Appreciation events, and the Speaker Series. Powered by parent volunteers, these events build community, support families and faculty and staff, and enhance the experience of students. 

The PA raises funds primarily through dues and the initiatives above. All money raised by the PA goes back to the Day School in the form of gifts to enhance the program, faculty and staff travel and study grants, and parent education programs. 

These volunteer roles, filled on either a regular or an ad hoc basis, are perfect for parents who may have limited amounts of contiguous time available but want to be involved in their children’s school life. Parents may serve, for example, as occasional classroom volunteers, Admission Ambassadors, or Publishing Center volunteers. They may also work through the PA as Room Parents, library assistants, or assistants in art or science classrooms. Most fundraising activities are supported by the staff of the Advancement Office and Parent Volunteer Center. 

The two main philanthropic initiatives supported by the Advancement Office each year are the Annual Fund and the Auction to Benefit the Financial Aid Program. These efforts raise money—about $1.5 million—for initiatives that are already budgeted for the current school year and thus crucial to the financial health of the Day School. There is a role for everyone in support of these two major fundraising initiatives. The Annual Fund, the Day School’s primary philanthropic priority, relies on many energized parent volunteers. The IDEALS Fund-A-Scholar Program and Auction is the Day School’s largest event in terms of volunteer participants. We want your participation and need your help.
