MacArthur Campus
(Middle School) Arrival, Dismissal, and Parking Guidelines

The MacArthur Campus sits along a major road surrounded by residential neighborhoods and parkland. Our presence enhances the neighborhood, and our use of this space supports student safety and honors our commitment to being good neighbors.  Our ability to accomplish these goals relies upon our collective adherence to the assurances we have made. These guidelines help us meet those commitments and ensure a smooth, safe experience for all. Thank you.

Morning Arrival

Students may arrive at either: 

  • MacArthur Campus starting at 7:30 am
     
  • Whitehaven Campus by 7:50 am to take the 7:50 am shuttle
    Students may also walk, bike, or take the bus to the MacArthur Campus, but should not arrive before 7:30 am.

Classes begin at 8:00 am. All students arriving after 8:00 am are marked tardy.
 

MacArthur Drop-Off Procedures:

  • Approach from the west on MacArthur Blvd.
     
  • Pass the building, turn right into the public alley, then right into the rear parking lot. Do not approach from the east and attempt to turn across traffic into the public alley.
     
  • There is no right turn from MacArthur onto Elliott Place during arrival.
     
  • Use the rear parking lot entrance for student drop-off. Students arriving by bus use the front entrance.
     
  • If a queue forms, wait without blocking Elliott Place.
     
  • After drop-off, continue through the lot, right onto Elliott, then right on MacArthur Blvd. Do not exit through residential streets (e.g., Greene, Clark, Q St, or Potomac Ave).
     
  • Follow the traffic officer and school personnel's directions at all times.
     
  • After 8:00 am, drop off students at the main entrance via the front parking lot.

Afternoon Dismissal

  • Students ending the day at athletics should be picked up at the appropriate location–the Whitehaven Campus Gymnasium & Performance Center or the Foxhall Athletic Field.
     
  • If dismissal is from MacArthur, follow the same procedures as for the morning drop-off. Again, follow the directions of school personnel and our traffic officer.
     
  • Pick-up at MacArthur begins at 3:15 pm (non-athletes only).

Parking Guidelines

  • Park only in the front (MacArthur Blvd) or rear (via alley and Elliott Place) parking lots.
     
  • If no spots are available, still pull fully into the lot and inform the receptionist if you block another car.

Your cooperation is essential.
Adherence to these procedures ensures student safety and protects the school’s relationship with neighbors. Ongoing failure to follow these rules may affect your child’s standing at St. Patrick’s.
