Wolfhounds Triumph at CAC with Both Championship Wins and Sportsmanship Honors

The spring season concluded with both the girls' and boys' lacrosse teams emerging as champions of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC), securing resounding victories over the Langley School with each team earning a 5-3 win. Congratulations are in order for our Championship-winning Wolfhounds! Their unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit were key factors in bringing home these prestigious titles.

Additionally, the baseball team concluded its second season with remarkable success, providing an exceptional athletic opportunity for students in grades 6 through 8. This season witnessed significant growth in various aspects, including team size, practice frequency, and the number of games played. The thriving state of the Wolfhound baseball program is evident, and we eagerly anticipate its continued prosperity in the upcoming seasons.

In addition, the track and field team concluded the season on a high note at the CAC league track meet. Among the standout performances, Kemper L. ‘24 shone brightly, securing first place in the long jump—a remarkable achievement. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to all the Wolfhound athletes and coaches for their outstanding efforts and achievements throughout the spring season. Their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship have truly made us proud.

In addition, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) held its annual awards meeting two weeks ago, where teams and individuals were honored for their outstanding 2023-2024 athletic achievements. There, for the eighth time in nine years, St. Patrick's was the recipient of the CAC Sportsmanship Award, the highest and most coveted honor awarded to one of the six-member schools.

Athletic directors from the CAC, a group of like-configured independent schools in the metropolitan area, vote in a confidential ballot at the end-of-year league meeting for the one school that demonstrates the best examples of sportsmanship during the year. Not only did the Wolfhounds dominate on the fields, courts, tracks, and trains, winning five league championships, but they also did so with class and respect. Congratulations to the Wolfhound athletes and coaches on a great year!
