On Wednesday, Grade 6 students led the way, leaving for Echo Hill and Maryland's Eastern Shore at 6:30 am. Grade 7 traveled on Thursday, and Grade 8 on Friday. These outings combined a study of Chesapeake Bay ecology with plenty of group thrills, including adventure-course work and team-building.
The trip connected students with the Middle School science curriculum and gave all of our students valuable bonding time. Each of these activities pushes students to develop greater self-confidence, teamwork, and communication. Students return more confident about themselves and more strongly connected to their peers. We know that the students have returned closer to one another and even more ready for the challenges of Middle School.
