The Parents Association strives to involve all of our families in nurturing our diverse and welcoming community, supporting excellence in the education of all of our children, and creating a spirit of volunteerism and generosity that contributes to the life and vitality of the Day School. The Parents Association leads community-building and fundraising initiatives.
All parents are automatically members of the Parents Association. The Parents Association, which elects officers each spring for the coming year, provides many volunteer services for the school, as well as activities for the enjoyment of the entire school family. The Parents Association also serves as a means of communication between the parents and the school, and, to that end, the president sits as a member of the Day School's Board of Trustees and its Executive Committee. Some of the events the Parents Association sponsors are Family Fun Day, the Book Fair, faculty and staff appreciation events, and all-school family social events.
Parent volunteers are needed throughout the year to organize class events and to assist with other school programs. Director of Development Chris Bolger coordinates the school's volunteer efforts and will be happy to answer any questions about specific events. To organize a network of communication and parent involvement, appointed Room Parents work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate activities and program needs.
