The Latest on Winter Wolfhound Athletics

The Wolfhound basketball teams are hard at work this winter season; winter athletics holds a special place in the hearts of current students, as well as alumni. Prior to the Thanksgiving break, past Wolfhounds Annette C., Hadley D., Ella K., and Kay Taylor W., came back to cheer on the girls varsity basketball team and say hello to their favorite Coach C. As a reminder, we always love to welcome back our Wolfhound alumni and parents of alums to any home games!

Athletics at St. Patrick’s play an integral role in our effort to nurture the minds, bodies, and spirits of our students. Our athletic program mirrors our academic curriculum in that it makes room both for individuality and cooperation toward goals that will result in significant accomplishment.

During the winter months, interest in basketball remains very high in the St. Patrick’s community. This year, we have expanded our offerings to host an additional “B” team for students in Middle School. In addition to the developmental program for Lower School students, the B team opens the floor for more talented students to hone their skills and play the game they love or have newly discovered.

The girls varsity basketball team has kicked off the season with three wins defeating Lab School 22-10,  Norwood School 18-8, and Langley School 25-22 with an overall record of 3-0.

The boys varsity basketball team opened up the season with two losses to Lab School 46-28 and Norwood School 60-5. The boys record stands at 0-2, but we have hope for a comeback!

The girls JV basketball team began with a 16-6 victory over Washington Episcopal School, an 18-5 win over Langley School, and a win against Westminster. The girls record stands at 3-0.

And lastly, the boys JV basketball team opened up the season with a 41-29 loss at Washington Episcopal School and a 32-25 win over Langley School with a current record of 2-2.

We’re so proud of our Wolfhound athletes! If you have questions about our athletic program, please reach out to Director of Athletics Seamus Brophy
