The fourth annual Café de Poetas event was celebrated on Thursday, May 11. Students in Grades 2 through 8 who are fluent in Spanish participate in the Hispanohablantes program. This group allows them to deepen their understanding of the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Students recited a selection of poems from Spain and Latin America.
The audience of parents, family members, and faculty and staff joined in a game to discover the names of various “Mystery” poets presented by students in the Grade 8 Advanced Spanish class. The evening event was filled with poetry, fun, and delicious food. It was an exciting opportunity to celebrate the Hispanic culture and St. Patrick’s community members.
