Annual Cake Raffle Raises over $15,000 to benefit Horizons Greater Washington

The annual Cake Raffle fundraiser for Horizons Greater Washington, supported by Grade 6 students and families, St. Patrick's faculty and staff, and the broader Day School community, raised over $15,000 this year, with more than 250 cakes donated and raffled off, bringing joy to our community while benefiting a worthy cause.

The annual Cake Raffle to benefit Horizons Greater Washington was another amazing success! Grade 6 families donated over 150 cakes, and the faculty and staff donated over 100, resulting in a lot of cakes being raffled off and going home with the lucky winners on Friday. With three raffles across the afternoon, Grade 6 students delighted in reading each cake winner's name. Grade 6 parents carefully shepherded the cakes from the Gymnasium and Performance Center to Lower School classrooms, where cake winners collected their bounty at day's end! Most importantly, they raised over $15,000 to support the work of Horizons Greater Washington.

Reflecting on this year’s Cake Raffle, Horizons Greater Washington Executive Director Mike Di Marco wrote, “On Friday, the Cake Raffle itself was a thing of joy to witness. My cheeks hurt from smiling all day. Thank you for all of the hard work that you put into it (on top of your already very full plates and jobs). I am so thankful for all you do and feel grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the St. Patrick's community.”

Thank you to our Grade 6 students and their families, the wonderful Grade 6 faculty and staff, and the broader Day School community for making this joyful event such a triumph!
