Over the past five years, the eager Wolfhounds at St. Patrick’s have helped reduce our school’s overall food waste by over 60%! As part of our greater sustainability efforts, students recognized the need to avoid sending our materials to landfills and began thinking of ways to reduce what we order, reuse what we have, and recycle when possible.
These efforts have included composting at lunch, battery recycling programs, marker recycling, bringing materials to our design lab to be reused, E-Waste recycling, and most recently, entering a plastic bag recycling competition through NexTrex! We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our young environmentalists. We would love to hear from you if you have any ideas on how we can continue to reduce our carbon footprint and our waste at St. Patrick’s.
