On November 1, St. Patrick’s was delighted to host the annual Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association (MAESA) Early Childhood Educators Conference for the second time! This year’s Conference theme was entitled “Let Your Light Shine: Whole Child Development.” Teachers from various Episcopal Schools in the area gathered to learn and grow as educators.
We are particularly proud of our own Day School faculty and staff members, who led MAESA ECE Conference workshops and discussions. Workshops included:
- Using LGBTQIA+ and Gender Expansive Books in the Early Grades, led by Librarians Jamila Felton and Mara Rosenberg
- Gardening and Sustainability, led by Assistant Head of Lower School/Director of Sustainability Sam Mason
- Meeting the Needs of Boys in Early Childhood Education, led by Head of the Early Childhood Division Paul Giguere
- Fostering a Child-Centered Performance, led by Music Teachers Laura Petersen and Betsy Sebring
- Parent Engagement in the Early Years: Bridging the Gap Between Parents & the Classroom, led by PK4A Teachers Iesha Myhand and Morgan Mason
- Chapel Without a Chaplain, led by Director of Service Learning and Lower School Religion Teacher Kankunda Klingenberg, Music Teacher Betsy Sebring, and Assistant Head of School for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Erica Thompson
Each presenter prepared insightful and thought-provoking workshops that exemplified just how skilled and knowledgeable our faculty and staff are!
