Many Wolfhound families know and have enjoyed our Primary Grades Playground (PGP), which opened for play in January 2019. Our Nursery School and Lower School children all have their favorite spots–the wooded village play area, the tunnel and slides area, the bamboo maze, the swings, or the extra large sandbox.
The permanently installed water and mud tables are popular this time of year. By pumping water into a staging table, children can engage in the same chutes and ramp play they explored in the classroom over the winter. Now that spring has sprung, children take their exploration of gravity to the playground, using water and dams to hold water back. Then by increasing the force on the water and experimenting with the angles and length of the ramps they use to direct the water, the students learn through water play. And they get the joyful benefit of getting wet!
