Last week, we marked the opening of our Early Childhood Chapel for the school year, a cherished and integral part of the overall PK program at St. Patrick’s. Our Thursday morning Early Childhood Chapel plays a unique and vital role, fostering community while sharing St. Patrick’s Episcopal values of love, acceptance, and understanding. We aim for every family to feel valued and respected within this space.
Each Chapel begins with the gentle ringing of a chime, centering us for a time of listening, reflection, prayer, and song. Beyond this, the Early Childhood Chapel serves as an open invitation for parents to connect with their children’s classrooms and teachers. Before the church bell calls everyone to the PK library, parents have the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom or join them on the playground. This allows parents to put faces to the names of their child's friends, see the activities planned for the week, engage in activities, or read a book with their child or a group of children. They may also observe how their child interacts with peers and the environment, gaining valuable insight into their child’s day-to-day experience.
While parents are always welcome at any time, Thursday mornings offer a special, regular invitation to be part of the start of their child’s day, much as they do in their own morning routines. Our Early Childhood Chapel takes place most Thursday mornings, beginning at 8:45 am. We warmly invite all to join us when their schedule allows.
