National Children’s Museum Event a Huge Success

Thank you to all who came out for Family Night at the National Children’s Museum last Friday evening!  Nearly 200 members of the St. Patrick’s community explored and played in this amazing space filled with STEAM-based activities and exhibits for children of all ages. Children and adults enjoyed climbing and sliding on the three-story Dream Machine at the center of the space. Sports enthusiasts tried their hands in the Grand Slam Science exhibit, a batting cage that combines physical movement and digital simulation to teach the science of hitting a baseball. Younger guests walked through a sensory-filled Slime funhouse or hung out with their pals from Paw Patrol. And everyone loved the immersive digital experience of Weather Worlds, an enormous green screen where simple hand gestures produce various meteorological phenomena like a bolt of lightning, a rainstorm, or a tornado. In between all the playing, guests replenished their energy with tacos, sliders, and delicious desserts catered by Spilled Milk (the same company catering the Auction on Saturday!).

Family Night at the National Children’s Museum was just one of several Sign-Up Parties offered as part of this year’s Fund-A-Scholar IDEALS Auction. Sign-Up Parties are a great way to meet other St. Patrick’s parents, try your hand at something new, and contribute to the financial aid program at our school, all while having fun!  More Sign-Up Parties are happening this spring—don’t miss out on one!
