With their special adult, Kindergartners worked through a series of challenging steps to make a lantern that could be used at home during the winter holidays and then in school at the holiday their homeroom class creates to culminate the Holidays of Light study in January. The lanterns were decorated with cellophane panels that showcased each student doing special activities with family and friends. When the tealights were added, the Kindergarten illustrations truly shone. Classmates shared their stories and designs with each other and enjoyed some books about the holiday season. This special event was a bright spot for students and parents alike.
