Kindergarten and Grade 1 Students See Dragons Love Tacos at Adventure Theater!

Excitement filled the air on Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14, as Kindergarten and Grade 1 students embarked on special field trips to Adventure Theatre to see a performance adaptation of the beloved children’s book Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin! The journey was filled with anticipation as students eagerly chatted about the story, wondering how the magic of the book would come to life on stage.

The play follows a boy and his dog as they watch a TV show about dragons—only to unexpectedly find themselves caught up in an important lesson: the "Dos and Don’ts" of feeding dragons! One crucial fact? Dragons absolutely LOVE tacos! But there’s one small catch—if they accidentally eat spicy salsa… watch out! The students laughed and gasped as the adventure unfolded, bringing this delightful tale to life with humor, music, and plenty of surprises.

The performance at Adventure Theatre was a perfect mix of entertainment and learning, reinforcing the importance of paying attention to details, making good choices, and, of course, celebrating the joy of tacos! With lively characters, engaging storytelling, and an interactive atmosphere, the show captivated the young audience from beginning to end.

After the performance, students reflected on their favorite moments, sharing their thoughts on what they would (or wouldn’t!) serve to a dragon if they ever met one. The trip not only provided a fun theatrical experience but also sparked imagination and curiosity, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

We are so grateful to the parent chaperones who joined us in support of this adventure. The performance proved that great stories don’t just live in books—they can jump right off the page and onto the stage, leaving young minds inspired and full of wonder!
