Grades 4 & 5 Sustainability Teams Meet Weekly

Our environmentally-focused Grade 4 and 5 students at St. Patrick’s have had a fantastic start to the school year in their environmental clubs!  Over 45 students between the two grades decided to have lunch together, once a week, and plan ways to help the planet. Each grade breaks out into small groups and brainstorms ideas presented in front of the classroom and discusses their group projects over lunch. 

Our Grade 5 team has been brainstorming ways to help endangered sloths and plant more native plants around the St. Patrick’s campus.  The eager environmentalists in Grade 4 are passionately working on a project to help endangered animals in Africa, as well as help stop invasive plants in Washington, D.C.  Stay tuned for more updates, as we are excited to see where these fantastic projects go over the next few months!
