Fund-A-Scholar IDEALS Variety Show and Auction a Huge Success!

Fund-A-Scholar IDEALS Variety Show and Auction a Huge Success!

On Saturday, March 6, the St. Patrick’s community gathered virtually for the first-ever Fund-A-Scholar IDEALS Variety Show and Auction: Behind the Mask. The wonderful event was everything that Co-Chairs Margret Nedelkoff and Vee Solomon imagined it could be: A celebration of St. Patrick’s mission and our values of Inclusion, Diversity, Excellence, Agency, Learning, and Scholarship; an opportunity for all community members to showcase their talents or just make us laugh; lively and profitable Silent and Live Auctions; and an exceptional Fund-A-Scholar virtual paddle-raise.

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the Fund-A-Scholar IDEALS program generated more than $680,000 in total to support socioeconomic diversity at the Day School. That incredible number also reflects a couple of record-breaking successes: Fund-A-Scholar gifts at more than $350,000 and corporate investment at $80,000.

If you were unable to join us live for the event—or if you just want to see it again—the show is still available for viewing! You can rewatch the show here. Our hilarious and inspirational Variety Show Co-Hosts, Elaine del Cerro and Brad Herman, did a fantastic job and no doubt continue to field calls from talent agencies! We had more than 300 families tune in and share in the fun.

We are grateful to Margret and Vee for their imagination and creativity in developing a virtual event that captured the essence of St. Patrick's. They assembled more than 100 talented parent volunteers from across the Day School community to help bring their vision to life and who contributed their time, talent, and treasure to make this a great COVID-19-safe evening, which did not feel socially distanced at all!
