Our Secondary Schools Placement Team has been actively connecting with Grade 8 families since last summer and relishing our partnership in confirming the next chapter of the outstanding Class of 2025. The process is led by Amy Yount, Associate Head of Middle School and Director of Secondary School Placement. I have the great pleasure of partnering in outplacement with Amy and Dan Spector, Associate Head of School and Head of Middle School. Their combined 45 years of experience at the Day School is an inspiration to me as we partner together with area schools.
Since the fall, we have been on the road across the DMV, visiting receiving high schools, checking in on our graduates, meeting with Heads of School and members of the admissions teams, and enjoying campus tours. We are pleased to hear how our students are making an impact and enhancing their high school communities both in and out of the classroom.
Regular visits like these are an essential part of our Outplacement Team’s practice, ensuring we stay connected and informed. Our recent outings have included trips to Bullis, Episcopal, Georgetown Prep, Georgetown Visitation, McLean, and Sidwell Friends. Amy was enthusiastically received by Andover, Exeter, Groton, and St. Paul’s as part of her boarding school visits last fall. In addition to school visits, the MacArthur Campus has been excited to host visits from admissions officers from many boarding schools around the country, including The Hill School and several other mid-Atlantic boarding institutions. We are grateful for the warm welcome and open engagement with each school, reinforcing the strong partnerships we have built over the years.
Our graduates and their families continue to be treasured members of their school communities, and it is gratifying to see the strong foundation they carry with them from St. Patrick’s.
In the coming weeks, we will connect with each of the boarding and day schools where our current Grade 8 students are applying.
