Fall Athletics Recap: A Season for the Books! 

The girls Grade 6 soccer team ended with a second-place finish in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. With an 8-2 record, the girls finished the regular season in first place and secured the number one seed and a first-round bye. The Wolfhounds opened tournament play in a semi-final game with a 6 to 0 victory over Westminster. In the Championship game held at St. Patrick’s, the Wolfhounds were matched up against the second-seeded Langley. The game ended in regulation with a scoreless 0 to 0 tie. After the teams played a five-minute overtime, the game remained scoreless. In penalty kicks, the girls eventually fell to Langley 5-4. The Wolfhounds had a wonderful season, finishing as regular season champions and in second place in the season-ending tournament. 

The boys Grade 6 soccer ended the season with a 5-3-2 record and a third-place finish in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. The boys finished the regular season in second place and were the number two seed and a first-round bye. The Wolfhounds faced Congressional in a semi-final game at St. Patrick’s. The two teams met each other once in the regular season, and the game ended in a 1 to 1 tie. In the semi-final game rematch, the Wolfhounds raced out to a 2-0 lead and went into halftime with a two-goal lead. Congressional was able to tie the game in the second half and eventually take the lead with three minutes left. Not giving up, the Wolfhounds came close to tying the game in regulation but could not pull off the comeback.
