Bringing Language and Culture to Life: Grade 3 Students Experience Bilingual Theatre at GALA

Under the leadership of Sra. Mazzarella, our Grade 3 students had an incredible experience last week attending a performance at GALA Theatre. The play was a vibrant and engaging production that beautifully blended Spanish and English, offering students a meaningful opportunity to see language and culture come alive on stage. The performance not only entertained but also deepened our students’ appreciation for bilingual storytelling and the power of the arts to bridge communities.

Through music, movement, and humor, the actors conveyed universal themes of friendship, resilience, and identity—messages that resonated with our students long after the final curtain call. As an Episcopal school that values curiosity, empathy, and global understanding, we are grateful for opportunities like this that broaden our students’ perspectives and celebrate the rich diversity of our world. The trip sparked wonderful conversations back in the classroom and reminded us of the joy that comes from learning together through shared experiences.
