Book of the Month: Class Partnerships to Foster Community

This year, the Middle School students have begun class partnerships with students in Kindergarten-Grade 2 to read the Book of the Month (BOTM) each month. September’s book, Naming Ceremony, by Nigerian author Seinathe Wedlick, tells the story of one family’s naming tradition.

Last Wednesday, Middle School students traveled from the MacArthur Campus to the Whitehaven Campus to spend time with their younger buddies. They read the book together, drew pictures to describe what their names mean to them, and made name bracelets while discussing their own name stories.
