Black History and Culture Museum on the Whitehaven Campus

Black History and Culture Museum on the Whitehaven Campus

During the week of February 13, three faculty and staff members: Grade 3 Teacher Crystal Buffington, Assistant Head of School for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Erica Thompson, and Day School Librarian Jamila Felton curated and displayed a Black history and culture museum in the Church Library for all to enjoy.

The museum displayed items representing some aspects of Black history and culture from food, music, civil rights, and religion to language, education, art, holidays, clothing, and more. Showcasing black excellence in various industries on the St. Patrick’s Whitehaven Campus was a treat! These treasures were loaned from people in the community, and we’re thankful for the outpouring of care and solidarity during Black History Month.

We look forward to hosting St. Patrick's own Black History and Culture Museum again next year!
