Assembly Brings Middle Schoolers Together

Assembly Brings Middle Schoolers Together

Each Tuesday morning, Middle Schoolers begin their days in community during their weekly morning Assembly. Gathered together in the Middle School Music Room, students celebrate accomplishments and successes, hear about a topic of significant interest, brainstorm ways to strengthen our community and learn about the day and week ahead. Weekly assembly is more than a break from the academic routine. Assemblies also provide an opportunity for students to develop confidence and public speaking skills while also reinforcing the school’s values and ethos. Watching these events can be a source of pride and reinforce the enduring impact of a supportive and engaging school environment.

Among the highlights of our latest Assembly was our recognition of the success of last week’s Wolfpack challenge. Wolfpacks, groups of ten or so students from across the Middle School grades, were challenged to create the longest paper chain. In a time-limited competition, and with a small set of supplies and a single sheet of paper, the Wolfpacks went to work. The group that produced the longest chain had to problem solve and work together in order to efficiently and effectively complete the task. Congratulations to Mr. O’Malley’s Wolfpack for their amazing work creating the longest paper chain of the bunch! Students will have the opportunity to compete in another challenge this coming week as they face off to build the tallest index card tower.
