Another Successful Summer with our Partner Horizons Greater Washington and Gala Invitation

Horizons students enjoyed a safe, productive, and fun summer at St. Patrick’s. Thank you for helping to make it so! 

We want to extend a huge thank you to the St. Patrick's community for the tremendous support for another successful summer for Horizons students on St. Patrick's campus! For more than 22 years, Horizons Greater Washington has provided an award-winning academic and enrichment program for students residing in underserved communities in Washington, D.C., and Maryland.

In May of 2009, Horizons opened its second site at St. Patrick's. Over the years, the partnership and program has grown, with close to 400 students participating in the 2022 Summer Program across three sites, 135 of whom attended the program on St. Patrick's campus this summer.

Throughout the six weeks, Horizon students at St. Patrick's dove into engaging books and texts, learned about famous artists and created their own art projects, built rocket ships and roller coasters, planted seeds, and mastered multiplication and algebra. They went on ropes courses, whitewater rafting, and rock climbing at Calleva. They coded apps and robots with IBM and websites with Capital One. Horizon students learned about Artificial intelligence, business development, and sustainability. And they returned to the pool, swimming at George Washington's pool at least three times per week.

Celebrate 22 Years of Horizons

We hope that you will join us on September 30 for a memorable evening to celebrate 22 years of Horizons! The Reach for the Stars gala will be held at The Four Seasons in Georgetown, in their stunning outdoor courtyard.

Support for the event will provide Horizons students with access to dedicated teachers and intensive learning that improves their foundation for the school years ahead, balances academics and social emotional development, and provides the tools they need to thrive in school and beyond.
