FINISHING TOUCHES FOR NURSERY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND WILL CLOSE IT UNTIL APRIL 8
Beginning next week, we will close the Nursery School Playground for finishing touches to this wonderful new facility. For the most part, the planned work involves elements that could not be completed during the winter. Next week, we will remove temporary mulching to make way for installation of the poured rubberized surface in several locations during Spring Break. Weather permitting, this step will take two weeks to complete. During this time, when school is in session, students will return to the temporary playground along Whitehaven Parkway. Also during Spring Break, water-play equipment, landscaping, and permanent handrails will be installed. We anticipate the fully completed Nursery School Playground will reopen during the week of April 8.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY CHAPEL ON MONDAY, MARCH 18, AT 8:30 AM
Parents of Kindergarten to Grade 8 students are invited to join us for our festive St. Patrick's Day Chapel on Monday, March 18, at 8:30 am. This service, which celebrates our patron saint, Patrick of Ireland, will open with Grade 6 Handbells ringing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling." Our bagpiper, Tim Carey, will play as Grades 4 and 8 acolytes enter. We will sing favorite songs including "The Garden Song," led by faculty and staff, and "The Light of St. Patrick's."

ANNUAL RECITATION CONTEST ON MONDAY, MARCH 18, AT 1:00 PM
The 39th annual Michael C. Leuthe Recitation Contest takes place on Monday, March 18. The entire Upper School—along with faculty and staff, parents, friends, and three judges—will gather in the Nave at 1:00 pm for this exciting annual St. Patrick's tradition. This year, our judges are Chris Danello W'02, who won the 2002 Recitation Contest and is now an associate in the financial institutions group at the law firm of WilmerHale; past parent Edwin Gus Jones, father of Eden '16 and Mickayla '18, poet, spoken-word performer, and Verizon employee; and Christine Nolan '97, also a Recitation Contest winner, Director of No Limit Generation, an online technology platform that uses the arts to heal refugee children suffering from trauma.
