VERACROSS PARENT PORTAL OFFERS A SINGLE PLACE FOR YOUR SCHOOL INFORMATION
St. Patrick's will shift to a new school information system called Veracross beginning in December and will phase out MyBackPack and Senior Systems early next year. We need families to log in to Veracross as soon as possible once they receive their credentials by email on Monday, December 4.

#GIVINGTUESDAY 2017 A SMASHING SUCCESS!
St. Patrick's received an amazing outpouring of support on #GivingTuesday, more than tripling our $33,000 match in gifts and pledges made yesterday to raise a total of $140,000 for the Day School's Annual Fund! Noel, Noel! Come get into the spirit of the season and join us for our Holiday Concert next Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 pm in the Nave. This will be the largest group of performing musicians yet!

GIFTS FOR GOOD IS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9
Gifts for Good is St. Patrick's annual alternative holiday gift fair, a reflection of our commitment to serving local and global communities. Students, teachers, and parents work together, in the true spirit of the holidays, to offer token gifts in exchange for donations to organizations or causes that are important to them. This year's event will take place Saturday, December 9, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm in the Gymnasium and Performance Center. All are welcome!

TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SPECIAL-CONSIDERATION APPLICANTS DUE TOMORROW
Teacher recommendations for Nursery and PK special-consideration admission applicants are due in the Admission Office by tomorrow, Friday, December 1.

CAPITAL AREA FOOD BANK DRIVE A HUGE SUCCESS
On behalf of the combined Grades 6 and 8 Community Service Clubs, we would like to thank you all for making this year's food drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) the largest ever in our five-year history. Last Tuesday, our Maintenance Department transported more than 1,732 pounds of food to CAFB.

NORTHWEST CURRENT DISPATCHES: CHEMISTRY PROJECT GOES PLATINUM
Throughout the school year, the local newspaper Northwest Current publishes a "School Dispatches" section featuring student-written updates from local elementary, middle, and high schools. St. Patrick's students have participated in the past, and this year we will post regularly. This week the paper featured a dispatch from Grade 8 student Sander Rodman describing his chemistry project on platinum. Keep your eye out for these pieces in the Northwest Current! GRADE 5 PARENTS: SAVE THE DATE FOR A MacARTHUR CAMPUS ORIENTATION COFFEE
Please join us on Tuesday, December 12, at 8:15 am for a coffee orienting you to the MacArthur Campus experience. The program will include a presentation from a panel of faculty, an administrator, and students; a tour of the facility; and a question-and-answer session. More detailed information will follow in a dedicated email to Grade 5 parents. Parents at other grade levels who are interested in learning about the program should reach out directly to Dan Spector, Assistant Head of School/Head of Upper School.

CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS WITH PBSA
The 16th Annual Parents of Black Students Association (PBSA) Holiday Potluck will be held on Monday, December 11, at 5:30 pm in the Gymnasium and Performance Center. This event is open to the entire St. Patrick's community. Come celebrate family and community with us. Enjoy great food, conversation, and some fun surprises.

HEALTH OFFICE NOTICE
'Tis the season to be healthy: Please let the Health Office know by emailing nurses@stpatsdc.org or calling 202-342-2820 if you have a child out with an illness that may have been contagious or that requires medication to be administered during school hours. This information helps us monitor cases of contagious illnesses so that we are able to alert parents when clusters occur. Happy Holidays from the Health Office!

BOOK DRIVE: SHARE THE JOY OF READING
BOOK DRIVE: SHARE THE JOY OF READING Help your child's old favorite books find a new home! Donate new or gently-used children's books for the benefit of various organizations, including Reading Partners, the Bishop Walker School for Boys, and Bridges Public Charter School. A collection bin will be available in the gymnasium during Gifts for Good (Saturday, December 9) and in the main Day School entrance until December 20. Want to donate after December 20?
