ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE, TOM JOLIN, BEGINS TWO-WEEK RESIDENCY
Tom Jolin has returned to St. Patrick's again this year for a two-week residency, teaching the art of folk instrument-building and promoting the study and understanding of American folk music to our students. Mr. Jolin, who has been visiting our campus as an artist-in-residence since the fall of 2008, is spending time with Grade 4 students at the Whitehaven Campus and Grade 7 students at the MacArthur Campus. Each grade will build instruments in special small-group sessions.

CHAPELS LAUNCH PLANNING FOR GIFTS FOR GOOD 2017
This week's chapels have kicked off this year's Gifts for Good effort, which will culminate in the alternative gift fair on Saturday, December 9, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Now in its eleventh year, Gifts for Good is a St. Patrick's holiday tradition, where students who have researched nonprofits present on their findings and sell token gifts that can be given to family and friends in place of more traditional consumer products. The funds the students raise go to the local, national, and international charitable organizations they have investigated.

BOOK FAIR WILL FEATURE FACULTY AND STAFF BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
Each year, as parent volunteers spend hours selecting titles for the Book Fair, members of the faculty and staff have the chance to recommend books. Here are some of the most beloved books of the Day School faculty and staff, which will be available from Sunday, November 12, through Tuesday, November 14 at 4:00 pm. The kickoff pizza party in the Mini-Gym is from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
