Thursday, October 5, 2017 NEWSLETTER FEATURES NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10, PROFESSIONAL DAY Shared professional time is not always easy to come by in a busy school day or week. Next Tuesday, October 10, faculty will spend a Professional Day working in advance of students' return from the Fall Break Weekend on Wednesday. The intention of any Professional Day is to have teachers work together on topics that will enhance the student experience for your sons and daughters. In addition, these days provide time for us to engage in any required work that might otherwise be difficult to complete. FACULTY TEAM HEADS TO HAITI By the time HoundsTruth lands in your inbox, eight St. Patrick's faculty members will have likely reached the top of a bumpy ride up a Haitian mountain to the community of St. Etienne. ADMISSION PARENT PROGRAMS BEGIN SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 We hope you will share your wonderful St. Patrick's stories with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues—word-of-mouth is how most families find us! In addition, please let your network know about our upcoming Parent Programs: NEW FLU INFORMATION FOR 2017-2018 Getting an annual flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors' visits, and missed days of work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations. In 2017, a study in Pediatrics was the first of its kind to show that flu vaccination also significantly reduced a child's risk of dying from influenza. The more people who get vaccinated, the more people will be protected from flu, including older people, very young children, pregnant women, and people with certain long-term health conditions who are more vulnerable to serious flu complications.
