Extended Day

Extended Day offers after-school care until 6:00 pm (5:00 pm on days preceding holidays and school vacations and on the last day of school) for children at all grade levels. The goal of Extended Day is to provide high-quality, after-school care in a group setting.

Extended Day includes time in study hall for homework (Grades 2 to 8), active and quiet play, a fun after-school snack, and other special activities. Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 who attend Extended Day may also arrange to participate in After-School Activities. Extended Day is offered to students on a contract basis only. Contracts for students in PK3 to Grade 8 are flexible, providing one-, two-, three-, four-, and five-day coverage. If a child is to join Extended Day on a different day than what they originally registered for, they will be marked as a Drop-In for the day. Parents must decide which day students will be participating in Extended Day. Switches are prohibited.

In addition, families have the option of registering for special activities on most days when the School is closed because of Parent-Teacher Conferences and Professional Days. Children contracted for Extended Day have the benefit of early registration Extended Day childcare coverage when the school is closed.

Drop-In Procedures
“Drop-In” care is provided to St. Patrick’s students as an adjunct of the Extended Day program. If after-school care is necessary, a parent is required to call the School Office and to email the Director of Auxiliary and Summer Programs and Homeroom Teacher before noon on the specific day to reserve a space. The Business Office will charge the student’s account for each day “Drop-In” care is used. Space within the “Drop-In” care program is limited.
