Entering Grades 7 - 9
Summer at St. Patrick’s Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program gives young people the opportunity to work with children and develop leadership skills in an enjoyable atmosphere under the supervision of the CIT Coordinator and experienced teachers.
CITs assist teachers in the classroom and during outdoor play. They are also expected to assist with the swimming program in the pool. CITs should exhibit a cheerful willingness to interact with children and to provide the teachers with adequate assistance in teaching and preparation.
Two afternoons a week, CITs have lunch together with their coordinator to review their experiences with the children and to plan initiatives in the classroom. There will be a field trip each session designed to promote teamwork and cooperation.
CIT candidates may apply for either Session I or II. Space is limited and, if a candidate is not accepted, his/her application fee will be refunded.
