Student Life at St. Patrick's
The life of a St. Patrick’s student is full of opportunities—for academic exploration and achievement, for artistic expression, for physical development and accomplishment, for spiritual and moral growth, and for building relationships with others. Grounded in core academic classes, but also comprising a variety of special courses and activities, the school day is designed to promote the development of the whole child. A vibrant art and music program; courses in religion, ethics and service learning; weekly chapel services; and regular physical education classes complement the academic core subjects of math, language arts, social studies and history, science, and Spanish.
The Upper School program creates a rich learning environment that engages students from the moment they walk through our doors every morning, but it does not limit the scope of learning to the world within our walls—or to regular school hours. We offer interscholastic and intramural athletics, as well as instructional clinics, to Upper School students who want to pursue their athletic interests after school. As an Episcopal school, we are integrally tied to the Washington, DC community, which we strive to serve in meaningful ways, both during and outside the school day. Furthermore, various after-school activities (languages, art, cooking, gymnastics and karate, and science fun, for example) and our Extended Day program provide opportunities for continued learning after the regular school day ends at 2:45 p.m.
