ST. PATRICK'S STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL SPEARHEADS KINDNESS WEEK OBSERVATION
Posted February 15, 2017
Heads up, Wolfhounds! This week is Celebrate Kindness Week at St. Patrick’s!
Now in its thirteenth year, National No Name-Calling Week was rebranded “Celebrate Kindness Week” three years ago on its tenth anniversary.
This year, Academic Technology Coordinator Jonathan Fichter jump-started our celebration by speaking in chapel about Lashon Hara, a Hebrew term for harmful speech, and urged us all to be careful in our words so that we do not hurt one another.
Our Student Leadership Council outlined our plans for the week and led us in a kindness cheer. These students decorated school windows and mirrors with positive messages to help promote kindness.
In addition, today and tomorrow, Upper School students will visit Lower School classes to help those younger students write thank you notes to those who are especially kind to them in their lives. We hope all of these activities will remind us all of the power of kindness and the need to always promote this essential component of our School Creed.
