Our coin drive continues with donation boxes in each classroom for “Pennies for Paintings” sponsored by the Grade 8 Community Service Club in conjunction with the Haiti Partnership Program. Currently, we have raised $286.73. Thank you.

To raise funds for the purchase of Haitian works of art for use in our classrooms, members of the club have placed donation boxes in each classroom and are seeking contributions.

Faculty members and students traveling to Haiti this month as part of the Haiti Partnership Program will select and purchase the artwork with funds raised by the Grade 8 Community Service Club. Through this assembled “visual library,” we hope to foster a deeper understanding within our students of the country and people of Haiti. Each grade will be asked to submit suggestions to help guide painting selection.

The drive will run through Tuesday, February 14. Our “Pennies for Paintings" 2017 Coin Drive will use your coins and small bills to support the local Haitian artist community directly. The paintings will be presented to the school at Hoops for Haiti.

Please consider supporting this undertaking by emptying your pockets and cleaning out your purses.
