During the month of February, we are excited to spotlight our Fund-A-Scholar program, which is a cornerstone of support for our Financial Aid Program.
Simply put, Fund-A-Scholar (FAS) is a direct donation to the Auction's bottom line and, therefore, to the Financial Aid Program. Fully 100% of every FAS donation is tax-deductible and has an important, powerful effect on the bottom line. You will have the opportunity to raise your paddles for FAS during the Live portion of the Auction. Contributions can range from $100 to $10,000 or more. And contributions can be made in advance if you’re unable to attend the Auction. We are hoping for 100% participation from our community, and every donation of any size is welcomed.
As Head of School Peter Barrett noted in his letter to our community last week, one in five St. Patrick’s students receives direct financial aid, but the program benefits 100% of our children by enabling wonderful students who couldn’t otherwise attend St. Patrick’s to become part of this special community. For more than four decades, the Auction to Benefit Financial Aid has supported a socioeconomically diverse student body by providing as much as one-third of the annual financial-aid budget.
More than 100 children each year receive grants from our Financial Aid Program in order to attend St. Patrick's. One parent spoke eloquently about its importance: “Without the benefit of St. Patrick’s financial aid, my children wouldn’t have the opportunity to receive an education that gives them the ability to compete and succeed in the highly competitive world they face in the future. I thank God daily and every year for the generosity of St. Patrick’s gifts to the Financial Aid Program.”
