For teaching positions, St. Patrick’s requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and prefers candidates with a master's degree and teaching experience. Candidates should have a genuine commitment to children, excellence in teaching, continued professional growth, and active participation in a diverse learning community.
Appointments to all positions at St. Patrick's are contingent upon the successful completion of the required background check.
Extended Day Staff Positions Available
Available: Beginning in 2008-2009 school year
St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School seeks applications from candidates who enjoy working with children and are interested in working in our Extended Day Program from 2:30 pm - 6 pm (Monday through Thursday) and 11:30 am - 6 pm (Friday). The Extended Day Program serves students in Nursery (age 3) through Grade 8. Applicants for these part-time positions should have experience working with children in a teaching, camp, or aftercare environment. They should possess at least a high school diploma and preferably a bachelor’s degree or be working towards a bachelor’s degree. Pay will be based on experience. Flexibility in scheduling hours.
Examples of activities that staff members engage in include:
- Planning, preparing, and implementing a program of age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, games, clubs, etc.
- Supervising, along with fellow staff members, groups of up to 20 children in a variety of settings, such as playgrounds, multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums, and classrooms
- Providing supervision and academic support for students in Grades 1 through 8 in a study hall setting
- Greeting visitors, fielding phone calls, performing administrative duties at the reception desk
- Communicating with parents both orally and in writing
Candidates must be able to attend an orientation and site-based staff development sessions. All appointments are subject to successful completion of a required background check.

Substitute Teaching Positions Available
Available: Throughout the 2007-2008 school year
St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School, a vibrant and dynamic independent school of close to 500 students in Nursery through Grade 8, seeks applicants who are interested in substitute teaching. Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree and enjoy working with young people in a school setting. Preference will be given to individuals with prior teaching experience. Substitute teachers are needed at all grade levels in general homerooms (language arts, math, and social studies) as well as in special-subject areas such as art, music, science, physical education, and technology.
