BISHOP BUDDE PREACHES AT OPENING CHAPEL: "GOD HAS NO HANDS BUT OURS"

This morning's Opening Chapel for Students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 began with a welcome address from Head of School Peter Barrett, who spoke about the chapel theme of the year, All Are Welcome. He offered a challenge to our community: "Of course, accepting a welcome is the easy part. The real challenge comes in turning and extending that welcome to others around you, not just your friends and family and people who are most like you, but extending that welcome to those who are different from you, the Other, the Stranger. We ask that you join us in accepting that challenge this year."
EARLY DISMISSAL FOR KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 5 TOMORROW—FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
Opening Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will be held by appointment. Dismissal for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 tomorrow begins at 12:10 pm, not at noon. Please do not arrive earlier than 12:10 pm so that we can complete Nursery School dismissal first.

IT'S A GIRL! AND IT'S A BOY
Kate Campbell (science) and husband John welcomed baby Throop "Troop" Evelyn Campbell on July 3 at 8 lbs., 5 oz. Dr. Rhia Hamilton (Director of Auxiliary Programs) and husband Alain Jean, along with big brother Bowen and big sister Liliah, welcomed baby Rockwell Hamilton Jean on August 1 at 7 lbs. 7 oz.
LOST & FOUND REMINDER
Every year, we see our Lost & Found pile grow larger by the day. Please discuss with your children the importance of being mindful of their belongings and not leaving them scattered about the building or play areas. If you think something is missing, please encourage your child to check the Lost & Found area as soon as possible. It is also essential to have names clearly marked on all of your child's belongings. Please note that any items remaining in Lost & Found at the end of each month that are not clearly marked will be packed up and donated.

Families who have not yet received their packets containing the Parent Directory and Handbook, Art Calendar, and carpool number may pick these materials up by visiting the Whitehaven Campus front desk during school hours. Please note that we must have the proper medical forms on file before you may pick up your packet. Thank you!
