Steps in applying to St. Patrick’s Kindergarten, after submitting an inquiry form, include:

• Parent Tour and Interview (required)—Individual parent tours and interviews begin on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Call the Admission Office (202-342-2831/2834) beginning September 4, 2012 to make an appointment.  Click here for directions to St.Patrick's. 

• Open House—Parents and guardians of Kindergarten applicants may also meet their tour requirement by attending one of our three Open Houses. Please note, a second appointment for an interview will be necessary. Open House dates are:
  • Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 9:30 -11:45 am
  • Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 9:00 - 11:00 am
  • Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 9:00 - 11:00 am
    
    
• Application—You may complete and submit an application (with applicable fee) at any time in the admission process. While we strongly encourage online application, hard copies of our application are available from the Admission Office by request. January 18, 2013 is the application deadline for all applicants except Special Consideration candidates  who must apply by December 7, 2012.
  
  
• Standardized Testing and Supporting Materials—Kindergarten applicants are required to submit WPPSI-III or WPPSI-IV results. You will want to schedule this testing in a timely manner. Parents or guardians should also arrange for current teachers to submit a Independent Education Common Recommendation Form directly to St. Patrick’s. Deadlines for receipt are January 25, 2013 for all candidates except Special Consideration candidates who must submit supporting materials by December 7, 2012.
  
  
• Applicant Visit (required)—Children participate in hour-long, small-group playdate visits in January and early February. These visits are scheduled after receipt of an application.  The Admission Office will call you to arrange the playdate.
  
  
• Out-of-town Applications—Contact the Admission Office to work out necessary accommodations
  
  
• Admission Decisions—Admission letters will be mailed on March 1, 2013.
