Though our first-round application deadline for the 2017-2018 school year has passed, we will accept applications for certain grade levels. If interested, please contact the Admission Office at 202-342-2831 or by email at dicksons@stpatsdc.org.

The steps required to complete an application vary according to the division and grade level to which you are applying. For specific information, click on the division to which you are applying below.

Out-of-Town Applications—We regularly work with families in the process of relocating and seek to be as flexible and helpful as possible. Please contact the Admission Office directly to work out any necessary accommodations.

Admission Decisions—Admission letters will be posted online on March 3, 2017.

Application Process:

Nursery & PK

St Patrick’s admits 24 to 26 new Nursery students each year and an additional 15 to 20 PK students.

NURSERY: AGE 3 BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2017
PK: AGE 4 BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2017

Please note: St. Patrick's refers to the grade level for children who will be 3 years old by 9/1/2017 as Nursery. However, Ravenna, our online admission system, refers to that grade level as PS. Please select "PS" for Nursery.

Applicant Visit (required)

Children participate in hour-long, small-group playdate visits in January and early February. The Admission Office will begin calling in early December to arrange the playdate visit after receipt of an application.

January 13, 2017 is the general application deadline. Special Consideration applicants must apply by November 10, 2016.

Supporting Materials (required, DUE January 20, 2017)

Standardized testing is not required for Nursery and PK applicants. However, parents or guardians are required to submit a teacher recommendation form if their child has participated in a regular playgroup, preschool, or childcare program. Recommendation forms are sent directly from Ravenna, our online admission system, as part of the application process. Teacher recommendation forms are due for general applicants on January 19, 2018 and for Special Consideration candidates on December 2, 2016.

Kindergarten

St. Patrick’s enrolls 10 to 15 Kindergarten students each year.
